Identity Verification (KYC)

Squarelly uses identity verification (also known as KYC — Know Your Customer) to create a safer, more trustworthy rental environment for everyone on the platform.

Why is verification required?

Unverified platforms attract fake listings, fraudulent landlords, and unqualified renters. By verifying identities, Squarelly ensures that:

  • Renters are who they say they are
  • Landlords and managers represent real properties
  • All parties can engage with confidence

What does verification involve?

You will be asked to provide:

  • A valid government-issued photo ID (passport, national ID card, or driving licence)
  • A selfie or liveness check to confirm the ID belongs to you

Squarelly uses Stripe Identity for identity verification — the same trusted infrastructure used by thousands of platforms worldwide. The process is quick, secure, and handled entirely within the Squarelly platform.

When do I need to verify?

  • Renters must verify before initiating contact with a landlord
  • Landlords / Property Managers must verify before publishing a listing

Is my data safe?

Your identity documents are processed securely and are not shared with other users on the platform. Squarelly complies with applicable data protection regulations. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

How long does verification take?

In most cases, verification is completed within a few minutes. Occasionally, additional review may be required, which can take up to 24 hours.
