Keeping your listing status accurate is one of the most important things you can do as a landlord on Squarelly. It ensures renters see relevant, truthful availability — and protects your reputation on the platform.
Property Status Options
Each listing can be set to one of the following statuses:
- Available — The property is ready to let and actively accepting enquiries
- Mark as Rented — The property is not yet available but will be from a specified date; renters can still initiate contact
- Draft — The listing is temporarily off-market; no enquiries can be initiated
Updating Your Status
You can update the status of any listing at any time from your Landlord Dashboard. Keeping this current matters — when a renter initiates contact, you'll be asked to confirm availability at that moment. Providing an accurate status:
- Builds trust with renters
- Reduces wasted contact fee payments on unavailable properties
- Improves your overall landlord reputation score on the platform
Availability Reminders
Squarelly will send you periodic reminders to review and confirm your listing status, particularly if:
- A listing has been marked as available for an extended period without activity
- A listed available-from date has passed without a status update
- Renters have recently reported a listing as inaccurate
These reminders are designed to help you stay on top of your portfolio — not to create pressure. You can update, pause, or close any listing at any time.
When a Tenancy is Agreed
Once you've agreed a tenancy with a renter, update your listing status to Mark as Rented as soon as possible. This prevents further enquiries and fee charges for renters who would otherwise contact you about an unavailable property.
