Squarelly provides landlords and property managers with a set of compliance-ready rental contract templates designed to support the Maltese rental market. These templates are built to reflect current local requirements and help both parties enter into a clear, documented tenancy agreement without unnecessary complexity.
What Templates Are Available
The following templates are available through your Squarelly dashboard:
- Standard Residential Tenancy Agreement — A full tenancy contract suitable for long-term residential lets, covering rent, deposit, duration, obligations, and termination conditions
- Short-Term Tenancy Agreement — For tenancies below the standard long-term threshold, reflecting the specific rules applicable to short-term residential lets in Malta
- Addendum Templates — Supplementary documents for common additional clauses, such as pet agreements, parking arrangements, or specific property rules
How to Access and Use Templates
Templates are accessible from your Landlord Dashboard under Documents & Compliance. You can:
- Select the appropriate template for your tenancy type
- Fill in the required details — tenant names, property address, rent amount, deposit, start date, and duration
- Download the completed document for review and signing
Note: Templates are provided as a practical starting point and are designed to reflect standard Maltese rental law requirements. They do not constitute legal advice. For complex tenancies or unusual circumstances, we recommend consulting a qualified legal professional.
Keeping Templates Current
Squarelly reviews and updates contract templates in line with changes to Maltese rental legislation. When updates are made, you will be notified through the platform. Always ensure you are using the most recent version of a template before entering into a new agreement.
Signing and Documentation
Squarelly does not currently facilitate digital contract signing directly on the platform. Once a contract is downloaded and completed, signing arrangements are made between landlord and tenant directly. Future platform updates may include integrated e-signature functionality.
